Guy Bailey

Wendy Lockhart

I have been a member of the PAANZ Education team since 1996 and tutored on the Introductory and Pre

Assessment (Upskilling) courses.

I qualified in Northern Ireland and since 1995 have worked in Private Practice in Dunedin.

I have been a part time lecturer at the School of Physiotherapy, Otago University since 2004 on the Postgraduate

Certificate endorsed in Acupuncture course.

My interest in acupuncture is mainly in the western/scientific paradigm but I am constantly intrigued by the TCM

principles and how we can integrate them into our treatment plans.

 

Linley Leuthard 

I completed my acupuncture training with PAPMA (PAANZ) in 1991 after graduating as a physiotherapist from ATI in 1978 and iInitially registered as a physiotherapy acupuncturist in October 1992 some 17 years ago.

Courses Taught for PAANZ:

Started teaching for PAANZ (PAPMA) in 1996, on the TCM part of the programme and revision day.

Then as a tutor teaching the following PAANZ Post basic courses:
Trigger point
Shoulder day
TCM day
Case study days.

I also taught the University acupuncture courses for AUT in 2000, 2001, and Otago in 2004.

 

 Karen Keith

Karen currently works for the Physiotherapy School at the University of Otago after spending many years in private practice. Recently, she completed a Postgraduate Diploma of Physiotherapy tagged with acupuncture and is now in her final year of a Masters (acupuncture). Karen has been a Physiotherapy Registered Acupuncturist for over 17 years.

Karen’s involvement with PAANZ began when she was elected as a committee member in 1996 and continues to the present day as a member of the education committee. She was president of PAANZ from 2000-2002. Other involvement with PAANZ include tutoring over 14 years on a variety of courses with a particular emphasis on auricular acupuncture.

Karen also has an interest in Manaka and Toyohari styles of acupuncture.  Karen has been a registered Toyohari practitioner for five years. A few years ago she completed training in cosmetic acupuncture protocols. 

Other professional involvement with acupuncture includes the International Acupuncture Association of Physical Therapists (IAAPT). Since 1999 Karen has been the vice Chairman and currently  is the Chairman until 2011 when the WPCT congress takes place in Amsterdam

Karen has been a tutor on the University of Otago Postgraduate programme of acupuncture since 2004.
